Little Fat Man in the Rockies

Somehow, 9 months came and went, and it's 2016. Talon continues to capture my heart with ever smile, growl, touch, laugh, and snot bubble. He is a wild child, just got his two front teeth, loves the water, hears and watches EVERYthing, dances to the beat of any music, and he's fat as ever because I'm pretty sure my boobs produce butter.

The Georgia heat is behind us (thank God), and we're back in the mountains, and though it's not the ocean, I love it here and it feels like home. We landed in the high rockies just in time for another brutal winter. Currently, it's -35, and my truck didn't start this morning, so here I sit, finishing the post I started months ago. After 6 months of staying home with Talon, I went back to work full time at the local resort, and it's been pretty great so far. Free season pass, and ride breaks during the day, plus onsite daycare for little man.

The last time we drove across country was Montana to Georgia. Talon was 6 weeks old. It was pretty easy because he was still sleeping pretty much all day. This time around, it wasn't as smooth, but he did better than I thought he would, and probably better than most 6 month olds.

Colorado Bound

We stopped in North Georgia to say goodbye to the Holcomb family, then headed towards Columbia, Tennessee to visit the Cranes, who's kids I used to babysit from birth. Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and the tip of New Mexico later, we finally made it to Colorado. Talon has seen more of the United States than most adults, and being outside is his happy place.

The holidays were a bit of a whirlwind. Stayed home and had a quiet Thanksgiving, drove 17 hours to California for Christmas, only to drive all over to visit family - a bit exhausting, but good to see everyone. Luckily, we got long trips in with Talon at a young age, because he is used to the car, and 17 hours was nothing to him (well... almost). These are a few photos of life here in Colorado. We are minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, and before it got too cold, we got a few good hikes in. ``
